It addresses the conceptualization, development, and implementation of online language courses and/or course components. Using the ANGEL LMS to Enhance Your Hybrid Course

This 4-week course will introduce participants to the many features of the ANGEL LMS that can be used to enhance a hybrid or computer enhanced course. Each participant will be provided an account and a practice course shell with editing rights for the duration of the course. Creating Narrated PowerPoint Presentations using IMPATICA   
Nov. 8 – Dec. 6 Taught by Lisa Pirinelli of Niagara County CC

In this 4-week course you will learn how to create multimedia slide shows that can be compressed via Impatica and delivered on the Internet at regular modem speeds.  You can deliver online lectures to your students, which can include animation, graphics, transitions, and narration Impatica for PowerPoint converts PPT files into a compressed format that can be streamed over the Internet and the file size is normally 95% smaller than the PPT HTML file. You can add the compressed file to your course management system or upload it to a regular web server. Your students will only need speakers and the java sun plug in to view your presentations. Using the New MERLOT Interface for Incorporating Learning Objects in your Instruction
Nov. 8 – Dec 6     Taught by Lisa Pirinelli of Niagara County CC

This 4-week course will explore the newly revised Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) website introduced in August 06 and provide a hands-on introduction for the pedagogical uses of online learning objects. We will use the repository as a resource for finding, collecting and sharing learning objects and learning activities in this collection of peer reviewed online learning materials. 

Created by registered members, the MERLOT collection includes and a number of support services for faculty development. You'll find thousands of learning materials, meet and share with colleagues in your discipline, and create your own personal collection for quick and easy access for yourself and your students..
